Stay on Norderney a little longer and you get to know the island’s quieter side: empty beaches in the winter light, bracing sea air, thalasso and the Kurmittelhaus spa centre, short distances and a town that stays lively even in January. Our apartments at Langestraße 8 are made for this – not as hotel rooms, but as a home for a while, with everything you need for four weeks or three months.

Why our apartments work for long stays

  • Fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, fridge, crockery and coffee machine (dishwasher and combination oven-microwave depending on category) – self-catering instead of eating out every day.
  • Regular changes of bed linen and towels for longer stays, final cleaning included.
  • Fast, reliable Wi-Fi – for working from home, video calls with the grandchildren or streaming on the flat-screen TV.
  • Box-spring beds (180 × 200 cm), walk-in showers, underfloor heating in the Kapitäns Loft, heated towel rails in Nord/Süd.
  • Bread roll delivery to your door every morning and drinks available in the house – ordered via the WebPortal (our web app).
  • Everything on foot: supermarket 150 m, pedestrian zone 50 m, Kurpark and Conversationshaus 300 m, beach 300–500 m, ferry terminal 1.2 km. You won’t need a car.
  • Personally available: the Papenfuß family lives on the island. There are no fixed reception hours – instead you get direct contact by phone or via the WebPortal.

For seniors and retirees

Many of our long-stay guests are retired and come back year after year in the off-season. Good to know: the house has no lift, and the apartments are on different floors. If you would like to avoid stairs, tell us your preferred floor when booking – we will do our best to accommodate it. If you need a ground-floor apartment, please contact us before booking. Apartment Nord in the neighbouring house is low-barrier with a level-access shower. The apartments are not wheelchair accessible.

Digital check-in with a door code works even without any technical experience – our oldest guest is 91 and uses the WebPortal without any trouble. And if you’d rather phone, just call: +49 4932 92440.

Prices and dates

Our prices are dynamic: in the off-season from October to March, nights are considerably cheaper than in summer and the minimum stay is shorter. For stays of up to about four weeks, book directly in our online booking system – you’ll see the total price for your dates straight away. For longer stays or wintering over several months, write to us with your dates and number of guests; we will reply with a specific offer. The only extra cost is the island’s spa tax (Kurtaxe), which is paid directly to the ferry company or at the ticket machines.

Yes, all apartments have free, fast and reliable Wi-Fi. You will find the password in your WebPortal.

Yes. Beds are made up when you arrive, and bath towels, hand towels and tea towels are ready for you. For longer stays we change the linen regularly. The final cleaning is always included in the price as well.

Yes, every apartment has a complete kitchenette with induction hob, fridge, crockery, pots and pans, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Some categories also have a dishwasher and a combination oven/microwave – details are in the description of each apartment. We are happy to provide a microwave on request.

There is no washing machine for guests in the house. For longer stays we change the bed linen and towels regularly.

We let by category rather than by specific apartment – apartments of the same type are located on different floors. There is no lift. Let us know your preferred floor when booking and we will do our best to accommodate it. If you need a ground-floor apartment, for example because you cannot manage stairs, please get in touch with us before booking.

Our apartments are not wheelchair-accessible. The best option is Apartment Nord in the neighbouring house: it has few barriers and a level-access shower. Apartment Süd also has a level-access shower, but it can only be reached via two steps and the way into the bathroom is narrow because of the bed – so it is not suitable for wheelchair users. For a specific enquiry, please give us a call.

Yes, depending on the season. The minimum stay is longer in high season than in low season. The booking system only shows you dates that can be booked.

Yes, long stays are very welcome, especially in the low season from October to March. A complete kitchen, regular linen changes, fast Wi-Fi and the central location make living on the island for a while easy. For stays of 4 weeks or more, please contact us directly.
